A serious self care situation.

I mean, do you have a cream exclusively for your neck in your daily skin routine. I love the idea of giving a little extra TLC to this part of my body that is prone to showing signs of aging. I’m also always experimenting with new eye creams and SK-II is a cult brand that I was excited to try. I’m loving the creamy yet super light texture of theres and I do think it helps to tighten almost instantly when used over night. I’m a serum user, so rotating in Prai’s Firm & Lift Serum was easy. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, but don’t forget about your girls! I love celebrating Galentine’s Day with a few of my favs each year. Galentine’s Day is officially on February 13th, but since it falls in the middle of fashion week, Liz, Tania, and I celebrated early with a girl’s day at The Shops at Columbus Circle. The Shops are a go-to destination for me as a local and also a place I recommend for friends traveling in. You can shop, dine and get some culture & arts in, too! We started the day with shopping, of course. TSACC is packed with some of my favorite stores. Plus, it’s always more fun shopping IRL with your gals.

After some shoe shopping at Stuart Weitzman, we stopped at Mac to freshen up our faces before heading out for the evening. We love stopping in for their complimentary touch-up services. Tania helped me pick out my new favorite lip shade, Mehr. A perfect everyday pinky nude shade. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it!

After a day of shopping, we walked over to Lincoln Center for a show. It’s just steps away from TSACC so it’s the perfect combo.

We didn’t even plan our matching faux fur coats!

After the show we headed back to TSACC for drinks. When in NYC, you must end your day with a cocktail at a fabulous bar. Ascent Lounge has the most inventive seasonal menus.

My make up routine is pretty simple day or night, and all year round. But once the weather cools down, there are a few little things I like to add to turn the heat up on my look for nights on the town. Bloomingdale’s asked me to try out a few products from the YSL collection, so I picked up some that I new would be great to use on my next date night. First of all, YSL’s packaging has the most seductive, “let’s get glam” vibe. Simply pulling it out of my make up bag set the mood for a sultry night out. I’ll break down each product I tried below and how I got a 5 min date night look for fall.

For skin, I picked up the All Hours Foundation Stick and Touche Eclat. By day I use a simple BB cream, but for a night out, a long wear foundation is a nice alternative. There’s nothing worse then hitting a dinner for late night snack after dancing all night and looking pale and tired AF because you’re make up is basically gone. Can anyone else relate? The All Hours Foundation Stick feels light and barley there, but stands the test of time.

The Touche Eclat is a highlighting pen that works as part concealer, part brightener. I like to use a brightener come colder months when my skin doesn’t have that naturally sun-kissed glow. Best part, you won’t find any shimmer or glitter mixed into the liquid, so it looks super natural on the skin.

 After filling in my brows and applying my signature cat eye, I go for a mascara, of course. I generally use and love drug store mascaras, but for a special night, why not treat yourself. YSL has a mascara with the most luxe, two-tone gold tube I’ve come across.

I’m not much an eyeshadow gal and always reach for a blush to add color, but for fall nights out this year I’m taking the plunge into serious lip color. I know, I’m late to the game. With my full lips and more au natural bend toward make up, I’ve always felt like a bold lip took over my face. I’m slowly getting over that and discovering lip colors I do really like, especially matte ones. I’m wearing YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Slim Matte Lipstick in Reverse Red. It’s a perfect-for-fall bordeaux that matches with the wine I’m sure to be having at dinner!

Fall is my time to mix it up. I love pairing different prints and textures and going for cozy layered looks. It’s also a time when I find myself mixing it up with my beauty and skincare products. One thing I’m trying for the first time is natural deodorant. I’m constantly changing things up in my bedroom. I love to redecorate and bring in new vibes, but it also has a lot to do with lack of storage. Being a lover of clothing, accessories, and the occasional beauty find (and having a job that encourages me to feed my habit) means that I’m in constant need of creative storage solutions. My latest hack is this low boy dresser that’s doubling as my night stand. The three drawers I’ve gained are being used as much needed storage for small bags and clutches + beauty products I’m sent to try out. The dresser is from the PB Apartment line so it has a slimmer footprint than others you might come across, designed especially for small spaces when every inch of floor space counts. The dresser comes assembled (so nice!) accept for the legs. I recommend leaving them off like I did so that the dresser height lines up nicely with your bed just like a nightstand would. Shop my edit above for a few other small space pieces I’m currently eyeing.
