Hi there! I’m Janelle Marie Lloyd. I’m from Atlanta, but have been living and working in New York City for over 10 years. You could say I’m a fashion and retail industry vet with experience as a buyer, stylist, and marketer.
I got my start in the Bloomingdale’s buying office, but my obsession with home decor drew me back to school to study interior design. I didn’t stay in that industry for long, but dabble in decor projects whenever I can. Since then I’ve worked as a freelance wardrobe and prop stylist for the likes of Ralph Lauren and Club Monaco, spent time at an apparel start up, and helped create strategies for brands at a boutique digital agency.
I went on to get my MBA from NYU and work at Google where I pitched YouTube to the household brands you know and love. Working behind the scenes on my blog throughout it all, I eventually took the plunge to full-time.
I launched Wait, You Need This to share my personal style, shopping advice, and love of interiors. My goal is to inspire stylish (and accessible) everyday living. “Wait, you need this” is something my best friend and I always say in that very serious moment when we realize that we pretty much won’t be able to go on living without that certain special something in our closets. You know you’ve been there.
