Hi, I’m Janelle..
I’m from Atlanta, but have been studying and working in New York City for over 10 years. You could say I’m a fashion and retail industry vet with experience as a buyer, stylist, and marketer. I got my start in the Bloomingdale’s buying office, where I interned in men’s fashion, trained in women’s RTW, and settled in as a Sr. Assistant Buyer for home products. My obsession with home decor drew me back to school to study interior design. After school, I didn’t stay in the industry for long, but dabble in interiors projects whenever I can. I quickly moved back into the fashion world after design school. I worked as a freelance wardrobe and prop stylist for the likes of Ralph Lauren and Club Monaco, helped manage an apparel start up, and created digital strategies for brands at a boutique social agency. In love with learning and personal growth, I recently got my MBA from NYU and went to work at Google to pitch YouTube to top household brands. I was tirelessly working on my blog throughout it all, and took the plunge in 2018 to full-time.
About Wait, You Need This
I launched Wait, You Need This to share my personal style, shopping advice, and love of interiors. My goal is to inspire stylish living and highlight accessible pieces that you’ll want to add to your wardrobe or home. “Wait, you need this” is a phrase that my best friend and I use in that very serious moment when we realize that we pretty much won’t be able to go on living without that certain special something in our closets. You know you’ve been there.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Stay a while and get inspired!
